PAFFREL organizes an all-island inter-schools quiz contest on Human Rights and Good Governance to commemorate the Universan Human Rights Day, falls on 10th December. This is the 7th consecutive year PAFFREL organizes this programme.

The quiz contest started with a written examination as the pre-selection step involved the advance level students in 23 administrative districts in the country. Over 1,600 students from over 400 schools took part for this.

The award ceremony of the programme was held on 10th December at New Town Hall, Colombo 7, parallel to the celebration of Universal Human Rights Day. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Canadian High Commissioner Her Excellency Angela Bogdan. Among the dignitaries The Commissioner of Elections Mr. Dayananda Dissanayake and Hon. MP Mano Ganeshan were presented. This programme was funded by Diakonia.
